A sensory experience
Walking in Andalusia is a sensory experience. There should be time to stop and enjoy the scents of herbs and flowering shrubs, the sight of views of lush ravines - and the pure, clear silence. We don't trudge through the mountains, but take it easy so nature can be sensed along the way. We might be lucky enough to see vultures, dolphins and other exotic animals along the way.
It is of course possible to combine relaxed and challenging tours during the stay. We encourage you to bring good hiking boots and a backpack for water and a change of clothes. A cap and sunglasses are also a good idea.
The relaxed
On this hiking holiday we stick to shorter hikes without the big challenges. We'll hike up to Frigiliana's old reservoir, with its unique views of the town - and walk along the coast among the agaves, olives and azure Mediterranean. On one of the days, we'll walk into the small, white village of Acebuchal and have a local lunch there. We tailor the stay to suit your needs.
The panoramic
On this walking holiday we will walk along the beautiful Mediterranean coast and up to the top of El Fuerte mountain behind Frigiliana. From here, on a clear day, you can see all the way to Malaga, and there are magnificent views along the way. On one of the days, we'll walk into the small, white village of Acebuchal and have a local lunch there. We tailor the stay to suit your needs.
The hardcore
On this hiking holiday we go on long mountain tours that last all day. We will descend through river beds, over high peaks and into the Sierra de Tejada, Alhama y Almijara National Park. We also pass caves inhabited first by Neanderthals and later by Homo sapiens more than 45,000 years ago. The walks are for experienced walkers in good shape, but we walk at a leisurely pace to enjoy the surroundings. We tailor the trip to suit your needs.
The healthy
This walking holiday is ideal in January and February after the fat Christmas. There's hardly a better way to shed those extra pounds than by hiking them away. We eat a low-fat diet during our stay and enjoy the vitamin boost provided by the sun and the juicy citrus fruits of the season. We walk in the mountains around Frigiliana with good gradients.
The White Villages
Andalusia is famous for its whitewashed and atmospheric villages. Some of them are small and isolated, others are large and full of life. On this stay we start in Frigiliana and over 3-4 days, depending on the route, reach a total of seven white villages, including Acebuchal and Cómpeta. We'll spend most of the day walking, visiting good eateries and staying in two different hotels along the way. The tour can be tailored to suit your needs.
