In the heart of Frigiliana's old town
Casa Doña Angela is in the heart of Frigiliana's old town, full of narrow alleys, staircases and small, secret squares. Although the town's houses stand close together like merry-go-rounds, you'll find an exquisite tranquillity broken only sporadically by the chimes of a church bell and a crowing rooster in the distance.
The house is a bit of a Chinese box that doesn't look like much outside. But make no mistake. On the other side of the weather-beaten front door, a world of subtly decorated rooms, cosy nooks, terraces, patios and a lovely subtropical garden opens up. The herbs of the pots, the flowers and the citrus trees add a sweet aroma.
The garden with its panoramic views has both an outdoor kitchen and an inviting pool. Many guests soak up the sun on sun loungers, and on warm summer evenings from May to October you can also dine out under the stars.

History of the house
Casa Doña Angela is named after its long-time owner, British woman Angela Štrbac. For a number of years she ran a B&B in the large house, which dates back several thousand years.
Among the regulars were Lasse Thielfoldt and his then wife Tina Scheftelowitz. When Angela Štrbac died and his son put the property up for sale, Lasse Thielfoldt decided to move permanently to Frigiliana to continue a high-calibre bed and breakfast in Casa Doña Angela. After a thorough modernisation of the rooms, Lasse Thielfoldt opened the doors of his luxury B&B in Frigiliana in 2013.
Guests include old friend couples, card clubs, dining clubs and larger families as well as executive groups and smaller staff groups on team building. The house has been the setting for milestone birthdays and even a wedding.
Lasse Thielfoldt and his then wife Tina Scheftelowitz were behind the café Floras Kaffebar in Nørrebro. In the late 1990s, they opened the successful café Amokka on Østerbro, which they ran until 2005.
Lasse Thielfoldt has been in Frigiliana for a number of years before moving permanently to the city in 2012. He is the co-author of the bestseller The Andalusian Dream, which explores the local cuisine and tells the story of both Frigiliana and Casa Doña Angela.
