In the heart of Frigiliana's
Moorish quarter
Casa Doña Angela is a unique villa and oasis in the heart of Frigiliana's old town. A quiet district with narrow streets and stairs and the sound of the church bell in the soundscape. The house is subtly and colorfully decorated, and includes a large kitchen and dining room, a living room with fireplace, a roof terrace, a patio, and a flowery garden with pool, overlooking the city and the mountains. All this forms the framework for your stay and is at your complete disposal.
About the house
Casa Doña Angela has four double rooms, with private bathroom and toilet. There is room for 8 guests, with the possibility of a few extra beds, as well as the possibility of accommodating more guests in our neighbouring houses. If you need more single rooms, we can offer up to 12 single rooms.
History of the house
The oldest parts of the house date back to the 12th century, but remains of masonry have been found from the Phoenician period, which means that the site has been inhabited for around 3000 years, when there were Phoenician baths, where Casa Doña Angela stands today. Casa Doña Angela is named after its former owner, British Angela Štrbac. For many years she ran a Bed & Breakfast in the large house. Among the regulars were myself and my then wife Tina Scheftelowitz and our two children Ruben and Bella. When Angela Štrbac died, we decided to move in and bought the property from Angela's son, who lived in London. I moved permanently to Frigiliana to renovate and continue the unique Bed & Breakfast - Casa Doña Angela. After a thorough renovation of the house and rooms, in 2013 we opened the doors of a luxurious bed & breakfast in Frigiliana, which I run today.
